Prayer and Fasting for Purpose 2

Hello my friends its the half way mark of our 40 days of prayer and fasting for purpose and God has begun to do some tremendous things in my life and the believers.I know for me, I feel closer to the Lord. My attitude is different. I am more conscious of my actions.

I have to admit that I have had some really good days and I have had some days where I just didn’t think I was going to make it. But God has truly been faithful to give me the strength to continue on.

As I stay committed for the promise, I know that the Lord is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Heb 11:6) By staying committed to the commands and promises of God it begins to work in us as righteousness as unto God, thus the result... More of Him in our lives

If you have been discouraged, don’t be any longer. You are not alone. We are all in this together. We serve a God who says, “If I be for you WHO can be against you”. So with that said I am going to stay the course and finish my race. I am going to persevere and be faithful to stand through the test. I don’t want to miss out on the crown that the Lord has promised for me, my family and the generations yet to come.

Be Transformed

Today I want to share with you a devotional I received in my email from The Daily Blessing Devotional. It is my hope that it will touch your life as it did mine.

Romans 12:2 - Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-- his good, pleasing and perfect will.(NIV)

How many of you wore a school uniform to school? As young children we did not have to wear a school uniform however as a teenager at high-school it was a different story. Everybody was expected to purchase the correct clothes and shoes from the school uniform shop. When the start of the year came, you had better be wearing the correct clothes, or there would be trouble. You could be sent home to change clothes, or you would be put on detention, or both! Detention was where you had to spend your lunch time, or after school picking up rubbish and cleaning up around the school grounds. Not a fun way to spend your free time.

There were some days in the year though, where they would make a special exception. To raise money, every one would pay $1.00, and then you could wear your own clothes. This was always a very interesting experience. All year you were looking the same as everyone else. But on this day, which we called mufti day, everybody came in their own clothes. It was on these days you could really learn a lot about a person just by seeing how they dressed and how they expressed themselves. The school seemed to spring to life, and overall there was a sense of celebration and freedom in the air on these days.

If we look at today’s verse we read that we should no longer conform to the pattern of this world. We should no longer be a part of the world, and the spirit of the world.

What does this really mean?

It means you shouldn’t be wearing the same uniform or garments that those in the world wear. It’s quite easy to see what those are. Just take a look at Hollywood. Take a look at the news. People in the world are full of hatred. They are full of anger towards each other. Full of jealousy. Always fighting for position. Looking for fame and recognition to fill the needs deep within their hearts. Looking to each other for acceptance, yet so focused on self they know nothing of love.

Have you heard some of these expressions? Life is short, so party hard! No pain, No gain. You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours. In other words, you do me a favor, and I’ll do you one.

But you as a child of God don’t have to be bound by the spirit of the world. You see just as we had to pay for the school uniforms to wear to school, being a part of the world will cost you. It will cost you dearly.

Do you want to be recognized by the world? Do you want to make it in the business world? Or perhaps in the entertainment industry? What are you true heart motivations for the daily activities you carry out?

Is it to glorify the Lord Jesus? Is it to pour His love to those around you? Is it to serve those He brings you as an example of His love?
There’s only one way to know for sure!

You need to be transformed by renewing your mind. That means your thinking needs to be changed. That word renewing also means renovated. So it is kind of the same as having your house renovated. That means knocking down some walls and removing some things that are causing damage, like rotten wood. Putting some new structures in place, to make the house strong. Adding on new rooms, adding new lights, changing the colors of the walls.

The Holy Spirit will do the work within you. He is ready and waiting to bring transformation to your life, and to cause you to shine with His Light and His Glory! He has come to wash away the Spirit of the World within you, and cause you to walk in His Spirit.

Why not take a verse today and spend a few minutes meditating upon it? Say it aloud over and over. Emphasize some different words. See what pictures it brings to your mind. Allow His word to sink into your heart today, and begin a transformation.

Then as you become more and more like Jesus, your path will become clearer and more visible. You will no longer be walking around in a fog, or a mist, but you will have the light of His presence to shine upon your path, and you will find yourself walking in His joy, and fulfilling His plan and purposes in your life!

You can have a fresh start

Its another year and nothing seems to have changed, all you are reminded of, are the failures, the loss and loneliness.
On the outside, it looks like you have it all together, but on the inside you are hurting, disappointed, like a shell, as a matter of fact you are wondering if you can go through another year of this.

You know it doesn't have to be that way, all of that can change if you want it to, you can start a new life. Maybe you have said to yourself, If I can have a fresh start, I would do things differently. That can be a reality because Jesus made it possible. He paid the price for all your failures, all of your sins.

That is the reason He was born so that you can have a fresh start. .I know you are probably saying, I don't know the terrible things you have done, It doesn't matter, Jesus paid the price for everyone of them.

So how do you make that fresh start, its really very simple. Romans 10:9 says that "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
It's as easy as saying, "Jesus, I'm giving my life over to You. From this day forward I belong to you.." I have a fresh start, a new life in you.

Just let Jesus have control, hand the reigns over to him and give a shout of praise. You are having a fresh start but with him as commander.

Prayer and Fasting for Purpose

It is the beginning of the year, a time for fasting. Our ministry begins 40 days of fasting today and as such I will be doing less blogging during that time I will post as the Lord leads.

The word fast comes from the Hebrew word Tsuwm which means to cover the mouth. Fasting simply put is abstaining from food for spiritual purposes. Our mouth is the greatest tool to our destruction we posses. With it we destroy not only people but our own lives.

God has taken the very thing that was the cause of man's fall in the Garden of Eden and of man losing his power and dominion over it, and has turned it around so that by abstaining from eating (fasting) we can enter again into a new dimension.

When we can control the appetite we can control the flesh-king of our body. Fasting gives us a holy sense of true values. So as you go into your time of fasting watch how you begin to die to the fleshly desires that were becoming hindrances in your life and threatened to destroy you.

In Isaiah 58:8-9,11-12 There are a list of promises to those that fast according to the will of God. The Lord promises that all these results will follow if fasting is done in a way pleasing to Him

8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness [a] will go before you,
and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.

9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
"If you do away with the yoke of oppression,
with the pointing finger and malicious talk,

11 The LORD will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.

12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins
and will raise up the age-old foundations;
you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,
Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.

Here is a list of ten specific promises for those who fast according to the will of God
Light
Health
Righteousness
Glory
Answered Prayer
Continual guidance
Satisfaction
Refreshing
Work that endures
Restoration

So don't just fast for the sake of fasting know what you are about there must be purpose in your fasting. God will reward you in fasting if you seek Him with the right motives and in a scriptural way.

Are you bearing fruit or are you drying up?

The new year has begun and you have made many resolutions, but the truth of the matter is that many of them are already broken. You are still struggling physically, mentally, emotionally, financially and spiritually even though you say Jesus is Lord over your life. There seems to be no end to your struggles, things in your life seems to be drying up your love for Him seems to be waxing colds, there seems to be no fire in you. So what do you do when you find your self in such a state?

I am the vine and you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing . Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned (John 15:5-6 NLT).

Its time to get honest with yourself. In order to move forward you need to reflect back on your life to see if you have been doing what you were called to do. What have you done for Jesus over the last year, have you produced any lasting fruit? Have you been a fruit bearer or have you been unproductive? The enemy gets blamed for many things which often is because of our own negligence in our walk with the Lord. You may still have a dance and a shout, and are acting religious but on the inside you are like dead mens' bone, dried up. Its time for reflection and repentance.

Are you still fully connected to the vine? They are many branches that are not fully connected to the vine and eventually they wither and die spiritually over time because they are nor receiving life giving nutrients, nourishment that is vital in your walk with God. The question is are you still fully connected to this life giving source? If so is it fully or partially? What is your prayer life and your word life like.

Maybe you have been trying to live a good and honest life but the only way this can be achieved is by staying connected to Jesus - The Vine. The bible clearly states that if you remain connected to the vine, you are going to bear fruit, and you may ask anything and it will be granted to you. Even as you bear fruit He will prune you, cutting back what is not beneficial so that you can be strengthened in your faith and character in order that you may produce even more fruit. Apart from Jesus your efforts will not produce any lasting fruit, you will become unproductive.

So for 2009 I challenge you, when thinking about your circumstances, reflect back on where you have been and where you are now, and get with it. Abide in Him stay connected to the source and see Him work great things in and through your life.

Blessings for the New Year

It is now 2009, and many people are anxious about what is in store for the future because of all that is going on in the world today. Many are worried about the economic crisis, change in weather patterns and so many different things. Some are experiencing troubles on all sides because they have no peace in their minds or hearts.

But God has already given us what we need to face whats ahead of us. Christ said, "I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn't like the peace the world gives. So don't be troubled or afraid." (John 14:27 NLT)

So, as we look forward to the year ahead, let us take Christ's free gift of peace with us. It will ensure that we are not anxious or afraid because of what we hear or see. We will know that God is with us and that everything is working together for your good.

May the Lord richly bless your New Year

Repentance is a God given opportunity to enter into the blessings of the Lord and escape from the oppression of the enemy.
If you haven't ask Jesus into your heart as Savior and asked Him to forgive you of your sins, it is as simple as following these steps:

1) ADMIT YOU HAVE SINNED. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

2) BELIEVE IN JESUS. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

3) CONFESS AND LEAVE YOUR SIN. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)
