Give the best gift

The reason we can celebrate Christmas by the giving of gifts, is that God Himself gave the very first gift - the most important and precious gift in the person of Jesus. The gift our heavenly Father gave, provides salvation for mankind. When he gave that gift, he gave what was most precious to him, a very part of himself, his only begotten Son.The greatest thing about this is that this gift is free, you do not have to do anything to earn it,.such amazing love. His love transcends everything this world can ever offer or show. In return God reaped an incredible harvest and is still reaping today.

In this season of gift giving we can give many gifts, but all God expects from us is that we take the gift that has been freely given to us and share it, not only at Christmas but all the year through.. Many times we do not have enough money to buy the gifts we would like to, no problem give The Gift , it is the best gift you can give to any one this Christmas. Its not a gift they can return if they don't like it, its free.

Wishing you all my friends and visitors a Christ centered Christmas. May you celebrate this season with love in your home, joy in your word and peace in your heart.

I am looking forward to a short time of rest this week until the New Year.It is the only time I get a chance to take a well deserved break from the work of the ministry, and I recommend that you try to do the same, because the Lord has some wonderful things in store for us in the next year as we press forward together in His Presence to take the world for Him

Bless you all.

How you can be led by the spirit of God

How You Can be Led By The Spirit of God by Kenneth Hagin

"Have you ever asked yourself, was that me or was it God?" If so this book is for you.

In these times that we are living, where there are so many voices speaking, it is imperative for us to know whether its the leading of the Holy spirit, the flesh, the world or the enemy vying for our attention. This book is about helping you to focus on the Holy Spirit in every area of your life.
Perhaps the greatest challenge we face as Spirit-filled believers is learning to accurately distinguish the leading of the Holy spirit. Its not easy but it is necessary. To abide in the Lord and maintain and maintain a connection with Him, we must hear and obey Him

Proverbs 20:27 says 'The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly. If you are born again the Spirit of God is living and abiding in your spirit God will guide us through our spirits. However many times we seek guidance by other means and when we do that we get into trouble. This is the reason many Christians are up and down, they don't walk by their faith they walk by their feelings. We often judge how God is leading by what our physical senses tells us, but the word says He will guide us through our spirit. Romans 8:16 says "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

We relate to God because of who He is in us , not because of others, not because of our emotions, not because we feel saved, not because we have ascended to greatness through our intellect – but because of what He has done in us.
This book differentiates between the spirit and the soul and the various ways you can be led by the spirit. Be it by an inward witness, the inward voice or the voice of the Holy spirit.

The Miracle of Christmas

Eugene L Clark is a man who discovered that "nothing is impossible". Blind and bedridden with crippling arthritis, Eugene did not allow his handicaps to diminish his service for God. He composed and arranged music by dictating each song, note by note and word by word into a dictating machine. He has written 3 cantatas and nearly 200 songs during his illness. Eugene wrote "My Hope" a book of inspiring poems which express his faith in God and his concern for the lost of which the following were taken from

The Miracle of Christmas by Eugene Clark

Many were the miracles
That night of Jesus' birth
The wonders in the eastern sky,
The signs upon the earth.
Mary was a miracle
By prophets long foretold:
A virgin bringing forth a Son,
Amazing to behold!
But the miracle of Miracles,The wonder of it all,
Was not the virgin Mary,
The stable and the stall;
It was that God himself had come,Incarnate as a child,
That God and sinful man might be
Forever reconciled.

Angels from the realms on high
To lowly shepherds came,
Proclaiming peace, goodwill to men.
and glory to His name
wise men saw the star appear,
Announcing Christ the King;
To guide them on their journey west,
Their precious gifts to bring.
But the miracle of miracles
was not the eastern star,
The angels near to Bethlehem,
Or wise men from afar;
It was that God himself had come,
Incarnate as a child,
That God and sinful man might be
Forever reconciled.

The Keeper of the Inn

Long years ago in Bethlehem
The keeper of the inn,
For Joseph, Mary and the Babe,
Would make no room within.
He bolted fast the wooden door
And made them go away
Into a bedless stable, where
They slept upon the hay.
Now you are keeper of the inn,
And Jesus stands outside;
The latchstring hangs inside the door.
Will you let Him inside?

Once Jesus came in human flesh
To die for all our sin.
Now He in spirit comes to man,
And asks us to enter in.
Now you are keeper of the inn
The inn which is your heart.
The choice is yours to ask him in.
Or bid him to depart.
O Jesus, come in human flesh
To save us from our sin,
I gladly open wide the door,
Come now and enter in.

Have you met Mary's Boy

Have you met Mary's boy? He is the most important person you will ever meet. When you come into contact with Him, He is going to make a difference in your life. His name is Jesus, and He is the reason for this season

Matthew 2:11-12 says "They entered the house and saw the child with his mother,Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Christmas is a very special time of year. It's a time when we celebrate the birth of Jesus and all He has done for us, a time when we celebrate family. Its a time when the whole world is hearing the message of Jesus. It's a time when people are tenderhearted, bringing gifts and showing their love and. appreciation, but at the same time while we are enjoying the holiday goodies and parties, getting caught up in the hectic rush we need to remember who is the reason for the season.

While you are out there this Christmas extending love to those in need, take the opportunity to tell someone about Jesus, the one that Christmas is all about. Introduce them to Mary's boy. They might not have all that they want this season, but you can give them the best gift ever, Jesus. Everything else fades into comparison. Its strange how we want to celebrate Christmas without Jesus Christ

As we share this special season together, I would like you to know how much you are loved . I pray that you will be touched, encouraged and strengthened in your faith.
My prayer is that you will receive all the good things the Lord has in store for you, I am expecting you to be blessed not only this season but all through the year.

Monday Readings - Winning The Heart Of God

Winning The Heart Of God by Robb Thompson

This book explores what it means to be a person after God's own heart, it challenges us in the areas of submission and loyalty. God is searching for people with perfect hearts, people who are committed and loyal. These are the people who have learned to respond to every situation from God's perspective and thereby win the heart of God

2 Chronicles:9 says "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro the heart throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong on behalf of them whose heart is perfect towards him." God found himself such a man by the name of David.
In Acts 13:22 God called David a man after his own heart. What does that mean the word after in the Greek means to resemble, to follow, to be in pursuit of, to aspire and to desire to be like. David as a man who aspired to be like God, he wanted everything in his life to reflect God. Because of this God was able to use David in a mighty way.

Many Christians want God to use them today in a mighty way and they sincerely believe that they are doing what God told them even they are living outside of God's command. Such was the case of King Saul, when the prophet Samuel confronted him. Samuel said to Saul, if you obeyed God's instructions completely what is this bleating of sheep and and lowing of oxen that I hear. Of course King Saul had his excuse, just like many Christians they always have an excuse.

But Samuel told him because you disobeyed the word of the Lord God has rejected you as King over Israel. When we get caught in our wrongdoing we always want to do what we can to get out of the sticky situation, but seldom is there a change in the heart, its only outward. Luke 6 says why do you call me Lord, Lord and do not do the things which I say. That is not what God is looking for.

Psalms 51 says against you, you only have I sinned...
Every sin that is committed is ultimately against God, when you rebel, you rebel against God, every disobedience, and doing things your own way is revolting against God.God is not only looking for submission but he is also looking for loyalty.

God requires loyalty according to Proverbs 19:22, and in Micah 6:8 we are told God requires his people to do what is right, to love mercy and to walk humbly before God. We all want other people to be loyal, we look for loyalty in our relationships but how much are we willing to give back. In the same way God is looking for loyalty from us. Can we say that we are loyal to man and most of all to God?

Monday Readings - Excellence in Ministry

Excellence in Ministry by Robb Thompson

"Excellence is a journey, not a destination"- a journey to be pursued with passion, leading you to higher levels in ministry and in your walk with God than you ever dreamed possible!

In this book you are given principles from the word to help you answer God's call to the ministry with excellence.

Excellence begins with the person not the ministry and it is who you become, because its all about being and example to all believers.

Philippians 3:14 tells us that we are to press forward toward the mark for the prize of the high calling. We are not here on this earth to press for things that has no lasting value. We are called to press toward a higher level , toward a life of greater excellence in Him. This applies not only to your personal life but to your ministry as well.
Very often in ministry because we have done things one way we are not open to change, but we must embrace change and be relevant as we strive for a higher level of excellence less we become ineffective. Only the truth of God's word never changes

In our quest for excellence it is important that we do not make comparison with others because very often we do things that we are not called to, to please the people. When we try to operate outside of God we will meet with failure.

In the book of 1 Samuel God told Saul to completely destroy the Amalekite nation and all their possessions, but Saul obeyed only in part. He yielded to the pressure from the people to spare the Amalekite king and the best of the livestock., so God rejected him as king. He chose to disobey God.
Often times we find ourselves like Saul walking in disobedience to God's word for one reason or another. The truth of the matter is that when we do this we are not walking in excellence, only one thing we should be focused upon, what does the word say about this situation, not what the people say, its not about their opinion.

We are called to represent Jesus with excellence in our words, in relationships, in our attitudes, as a matter of fact in every area of our lives. Let the fruit of the spirit be evident in our lives

Monday Readings - Excellence in Character

Excellence in Character by Robb Thompson

The foundation of our life is Christ Jesus and we can only walk in excellence based on our godly character because character is the foundation of excellence

Our character is a reflection of who we really are and it is what gives us credibility.

A person of character considers moral strength of greater value than beauty, riches, or fame because they choose to live out their life by a higher standard. Character always starts out with a decision. You have to determine that you will be a person of character no matter what anyone else thinks because the decisions you make today will determines tomorrows circumstances. The seeds you sow today will determine what you reap tomorrow.

Every break down in life can be traced to a failure in character some where along the line. You must be willing to confront you before you try to confront the lack of character in someone else. you must be willing to do what is right and not what is comfortable because a person of character does what is right in obedience to God even if it means rejection from man. If I live my life to please God I should not allow myself to be affected or influenced by people.

The character of God is our example and we cannot go wrong if we use that as our measuring stick

Are you destined for greatness?

"But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honor, and some to dishonor."
(2 Timothy 2:20)

Are you destined for greatness in the kingdom of God?

Ask most believers that question and they'll humbly assure you they're not. "You know we can't all be golden vessels" they'll say. "Like the Bible says, some of us are just called to be little clay pots."

Praise God, the Bible doesn't say any such thing!

Certainly there are going to be some golden vessels in the kingdom and there are going to be some clay pots, but we are the ones--not God--who determine which kind we will be. Second Timothy 2:21 tells us that "whoever cleanses himself [from what is ignoble and unclean]--who separates himself from contact with contaminating and corrupting influences-- will [then himself] be a vessel set apart and useful for honorable and noble purposes, consecrated and profitable to the Master, fit and ready for any good work" (AMP).

Golden vessel or clay pot, the choice is up to you!

Why then do so many believers choose to do menial work in the kingdom of God? Why are they content to remain clay pots?

Because they lack one thing every golden vessel must have. They lack dedication. They haven't made a quality decision to separate themselves from contaminating influences. They haven't been willing to turn away from the ways of the world and go on with God past the point of no return.

My friend, God is doing some exciting things on this earth right now. He's working signs and wonders, paving the way for Jesus' return. This is a thrilling time, but it's definitely no time for clay pots! So if you haven't yet made the kind of commitment that will turn you into a golden vessel, admit it. Then take the time to get before God and study His Word and get your will in line with His. Let the Holy Spirit deal with you until you're willing to leave the ways of the world behind and walk in higher ways--the ways of God.

Do it now. The hour is late. The glory of God is spilling over the earth in one final thrilling wave. It's not trickling out of clay pots. It's being poured through golden vessels--and that's exactly what God is calling you to be.

Monday Readings - Prayer, Life's Limitless Reach

Prayer: Life's Limitless Reach by Jack Taylor

"....far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you.'"( 1 Samuel 12:23 )

As a believer your spiritual life will never rise above and stay above the level of your prayer.

In this fast paced world that we live in today many believers have found themselves in the place where their is little on no prayer in their life. Let it be know that prayerlessness is a sin, not just a weakness. Prayerlessness according to the author is a sin against God because God has commanded us to pray. All that God does, he does through prayer.

What is prayerlessness? It is when someone finds themselves in a place of praying less than they should, or than the Father desires. Prayerlessness like other sins may become strongholds in our lives, if left over time. We are told that we should pull down every stronghold. We have all been in a place where we have struggled in your prayer life for one reason or another, and even though we have repented, confessed, sought forgiveness and cleansing, after a short while we are back to a life of prayerlessness but its time to begin to pay close attention. If you are vacillating and can't seem to break free from the cycle, its time to deal with it as a stronghold in your life.

Do you enjoy praying, or do you find it boring and just a duty to perform? We often want the power of God without seeking him. but the truth is, we will not have the power, the miracles or boldness unless we prayed

When we go to pray we must go believing that what we are about to pray about will happen. The early church was very effective because they we devoted to prayer, and whenever they prayed the Spirit started moving. Their prayers were continuous, fervent and effective.

In this book Jack Taylor brings you to a place, where you see exactly where you are. This book compels you to stop reading and to pray. You get a renewed desire to pray. For too long all we have been talking about prayer but have not really been praying. Its time for us to keep God's command of prayer because "Nothing lies beyond the reach of Prayer, because nothing lies beyond the reach of God"

Monday Readings - Excellence in Attitude

This week I am reading about attitudes and how they affect our lives for good or bad. its is so very important for us to maintain a good attitude despite the circumstances and situations we face everyday.

Excellence in Attitude by Robb Thomson

"Do you want to push beyond mediocrity and attain excellence in every area of your life? If you do you must take inventory of the way you think. If you rule your mind, you will rule your life".

Proverbs 16:32 says, a person who can rule his own spirit is greater than he who can take a city.

Attitude is everything in the area of excellence. For too long we have bypassed poor attitudes and put it down to that's the way I am instead of dealing with it. Very often we take this stand because we don't want to take the time to deal with our bad attitudes. When you rule your attitudes, you rule your own heart, opening the way for God to work in your life.

The problem is that we want to fit in with the crowd, we want to be popular, but there comes a time when you will have to deal with the fact that we are no longer popular. We would rather allow things in our lives because we are afraid to go against the flow, afraid of being different. We have been called to be like Jesus not a cheap carbon copy of someone else.

A person of excellence believes that his attitude will determine how far he will go in life and so continually corrects himself when he realizes that he has done or said something wrong. He does not wait to be corrected by anyone, or allow himself to become complacent and think I can get away with this. When you are pursuing an excellent attitude you don't look at what other people are doing and says its okay I can do it too.

As we go after excellence the quality of our life will improve. Because we are to reaching for God's highest, we will strive to be everything He has called us to be.

" Your attitude whether good or bad will affect every individual you come into contact with"
When you have an excellent attitude you are always looking to help someone, not looking for what you can get out of the situation. If you are always looking for what you can get out of the relationship it will become stagnated and die. With an excellent attitude you will have a lasting positive effect on the individual.

A person with an excellent attitude is willing to change some things in their life so that they can be of benefit others. They don't say that's the way I am, you will have to live with that, take it or leave it. You must want the real thing, you don't want to pretend like you have it all together when It is not so.

James 3:17 says that the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits without partiality and without hypocrisy..
A person with a good attitude is never a hypocrite, displaying a good attitude in front of people and criticizing them behind their backs. Nothing like the present moment to make the decision to become a person with an excellent attitude by dealing with the poor attitudes as you recognize them.

"I may not be able to change my world around me,
but I can change the world within me"

Sisters - What they mean to you

This is an email I received from my sister, and I would like to share it with you all.

A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day,
drinking iced tea and visiting with her Mother. As
they talked about life, about marriage, about the
responsibilities of life and the obligations of
adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her
glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance
upon her daughter

'Don't forget your Sisters,' she advised, swirling
the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. 'They'll
be more important as you get older. No matter how
much you love your husband, no matter how much you
love the children you may have, you are still going
to need Sisters. Remember to go places with them now
and then; do things with them.'

'Remember that 'Sisters' means ALL the women...
your girlfriends, your daughters, and all your other
women relatives too. 'You'll need other women. Women
always do.'

What a funny piece of advice!' the young woman
thought. Haven't I just gotten married?
Haven't I just joined the couple-world? I'm now a
married woman, for goodness sake! A grownup! Surely
my husband and the family we may start will be all I
need to make my life worthwhile!'

But she listened to her Mother. She kept contact
with her Sisters and made more women friends each
year. As the years tumbled by, one after another,
she gradually came to understand that her Mom really
knew what she was talking about. As time and nature
work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman,
Sisters are the mainstays of her life.

After more than 50 years of living in this world,
here is what I've learned:

THIS SAYS IT ALL:

Time passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Jobs come and go.
Love waxes and wanes.
Men don't do what they're supposed to do.
Hearts break.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors.
Careers end.
BUT.........

Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how
many miles are
between you. A girl friend is never farther away
than needing her can reach.

When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you
have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life
will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on,
praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on
your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the
valley's end.

Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk
beside you...Or come in and carry you out.

Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters,
daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers,
Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended
family, all bless our life!

The world wouldn't be the same without women, and
neither would I. When we began this adventure called
womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or
sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we
would need each other.

Every day, we need each other still. Pass this on
to all the women who help make your life meaningful.
I just did. Short and very sweet:

Monday Readings - The Believer's Authority

The Believer's Authority by Kenneth Hagin

This book is a classic, I never get tired of reading it. Whenever I don't have a book to read I pick this one up and it never fails to minister to me. It reminds me of the authority I have as a believer.

Authority is power delegate to someone, and in our case as believers we have been given authority, to deal with the enemy. We have not been called to pray to God about the devil, we are to exercise our authority that has been given to us

Luke 10:19 says "Behold I give unto you power (authority) to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the powers of the enemy.
We have been given authority over the enemy, and we need to understand that because we have been delegated authority, we have someone backing us and we need not be afraid of the enemy. All authority that was given to Christ belongs to us through Him, so when we pray for the sick we are exercising authority over the enemy.

Ephesians 6:12 says for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
But we can thank God that we have authority over these evil spirits through Jesus Christ.
Our fight with the devil should be with the understanding that we have authority over him because he is already defeated, Jesus defeated him for us

We need to always remember that in our battle against the enemy, that we are above them and have the authority over them
As long as the devil can keep us in unbelief we will not get your victory. we cannot move by what we see or feel.
We have to be moved by what the word says. Its all about what you believe.

Monday Readings- Breaking Generational Curses and Pulling Down Strongholds

Someone asked me recently, how is it that I am so knowledgeable, the reason is because I read a lot, like a book every week. Its a habit I developed from Bible School, having to read so many books.
Beginning this week I would like to share with you what I am currently reading.

Breaking Generational Curses and Pulling Down Strongholds by Vito Rallo

You are saved, baptized and full of the Holy Ghost, yet there are some areas that you are still struggling to get victory. When we got saved the spirit man was born again , but the strongholds that were allowed previously into our lives were never dealt with. After going to God and confessing and repenting of your sins, there are still some habits that seems not to go..You keep doing the same thing over and over . It becomes repetitious and this can signal that there is a stronghold in your life

Many of the things going on in our lives such as fears, jealousy, mental illness, hatred, low self-esteem, gluttony, rejection, anger ,sexual perversions, spiritual heaviness fear are frequently related to what are called generational curses.. Curses which can be passed down from generation to generation, often times without you even being aware of their presence and yet have the ability to affect you.

Maybe you always seem to fail at your job and you can never keep one for more than a few months at a time. Did your father perhaps have the same problem and some uncle or some relative show the same tendency? You see these curses can skip a generation. If that is the case, you may have just identified a family generational curse. You can now stand against it specifically all the time and push it back so that it will not affect you.

Certain curses seem to affect certain aspects of our lives. Many times there is a curse of sickness and disease that runs in a family, There is hypertension or diabetes, or cancer or fibroids just to name a few. When you look at your family lineage, your grandparents, parents and now you or your sibling or even your child suffers with the same problem. It will continue down to your children and grandchildren and so on until you break it off.

Or perhaps there is a curse that is related to finances. You need to take a look at your own life and ask yourself what areas you are not blessed in. If you are not being blessed particularly in the area of finances and health or if you seem to have continual breakages or things going wrong with equipment, have a good look and see if you can see a pattern developing there.

Or you can recall words of anger and bitterness , negative words spoken over your life by some one in authority. You may already identify strongholds even as you are reading this. You can renounce those curses, reverse them and give them back to Satan in the name of Jesus. You have the authority to stand against the enemy and be set free. This book not only identifies the family generational curses and strongholds, it also tells you how to deal with them so that you can walk in liberty and freedom.

In Hosea 4:6 it says God's people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge. When you don't have knowledge about something, sometimes its devastating. My siblings all went through this because they did not have the knowledge about generational curses and strongholds back then.

I believe that every Christian should read this book. This is a powerful book, it shows how people are living there lives, going through all kinds of situations and cycles and not having a clue of what is going on. All they know is that they don't seem to be able to live a life of freedom.

Don't worry you are going to make it

With everything that's going on around the world, the future looks bleak. The enemy is having a field day using the situation to drive fear into the hearts of people to discourage them so that their faith may fail. But when you look at the situation from God's perspective, its totally different. God is not subject to the failures of man. He is not waiting like us for something to happen. He wants to make something.

The enemy is seeking to destroy lives by controlling those in leadership and he is succeeding. For too long man has been listening to the ideas and wisdom of the politicians. The wisdom of the world will come to nothing, it is failing as we can see.because God has been left out of the equation, therefore the foundations are crumbling because there were not built on the principles of God.

Which of you by worrying is going to change anything. Worry is like a
rocker, it keeps you going but it doesn't get you anywhere.
Of course we have to make plans but God doesn't want us to be filled with worry and anxiety about tomorrow.

All this worrying is causing health problems, such as headaches , fatigue ,stress, and changes in blood pressure to name a few.

It is disrupting productivity, you can't get much done because worrying interferes with your thinking and it affects the way you treat people. Because of all the worrying you become withdrawn, you become a grouch.

It also reduces your ability to trust in God, filled with worry and distracted by the pressures all around, there is little time to pray or concentrate on the word of God. You don't remember to confess his promises.

Matthew 25-34 says:

25 "That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear . Isn't life more than food, and your body more than clothing

26.Look at the birds. They don't plant or harvest or store foods in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them . And aren't you far more valuable to him than they are.
27. Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

28 "And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing.

29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.

30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fir tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith.

31 "So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear ?

32.These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.

33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

34 "So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

So what do you do with your worry?

1. Give them to God

.According to 1 Peter 5:7 we should give all our cares and worries to God, for he cares about us.
By carrying all these care you are showing that you have not fully trusted God with your life.

2.Pray about it.
.
Philippians 4:6 tells us not to worry about anything; instead we should pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all that he has done

As long as you worry and are anxious concerning what you are praying about, you nullify the effect of your prayer; you haven't cast it upon him you still have it.

3. Fix your thoughts on God's power

Philippians 4:8-9 lets us know that we should fix our thoughts on God's power and not life's problems

We should turn our thoughts from the negative, unbelieving to the positive, constructive thoughts of faith, hope and love.

4.Trust in God's promises

Exodus 14:13 tells us that we should not be afraid despite what is facing us. We only have to trust in God's promise.

This is the attitude we should have today with all the troubles surrounding us. We should purpose in our hearts to deal with the worry and anxiety we are facing and not let the enemy use it to destroy us. Rise up in your faith and continue to trust in his promises.

Psalms 55:22 says to give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip.

You are going to make worried one.

What kind of prayers are you praying?

James 1:6 and 7 - But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing from the Lord.

So you have be spending a lot of time in prayer. You have spent hours every day crying out to the Lord. But what kind of prayers are they? Hebrews 11:6 says that without faith it is impossible to please Him.

What kind of prayers are you sowing? Are they pleading with the Lord, or are they prayers of faith. The results of your prayer will soon reveal which kind of prayer you are offering up. Well it means that you will have to be praying in faith.

So the question is how to pray in faith. To understand this you need to understand what faith is. Many people see faith as just trust in the Lord. So they think that asking the Lord for something in prayer is faith.

Faith is a lot more than that. Faith involves believing, and specifically believing God's Word. The Greek word translated as 'believe' in the New Testament is a word that means amongst other things, "to be fully convinced of something." So to exercise faith, you need to be fully convinced that God's Word is true.

To pray in faith then, means to be fully convinced that God will give you what you are praying for. When you ask for something, what is the picture in your mind? Do you see the Lord giving you that which you asked, or do you see yourself not having what you asked for?

If you are praying for healing, do you see yourself lying in bed or healed and getting on with your life? If you are praying for financial provision, do you see yourself in debts or finances in your hand to take care of your needs?

You need to begin to picture yourself with what you ask for. If you are asking the Lord for a car, you need to begin see it in your garage. Whatever you are praying you need to see it, picture yourself with it and continue to confess the scriptures that pertain to your situation.
As you keep the picture of what you are expecting from the Lord in your mind , it will motivate you to push through , even when there is no sign of it. Continue to give God praise and thanks for what you are praying for, even though it has not yet
manifested.

Hindrances to your faith

Your faith does not seem to be working, therefore it means that there are hindrances somewhere. You need to find out what it is so that you can walk in faith. Even though you have been believing God, you don't seem to be getting the answers you have been looking for, you've had to struggle. Its time to begin to look to see if there are any hindrances in your way. See if there are any hindrances operating in our life.

So then what is faith? It is the ability to receive in this natural realm, what you are desiring from the Lord, that which you have already received from Him in the spirit realm. Faith draws out what you can't see and brings hope into reality. It assures success and is a defensive weapon against the enemy.

Bitterness

One area of our life that we need to particularly guard is the area of our relationships. Bitterness displays itself like thorns that grow in the heart and corrupt all life. When a root of bitterness springs up, it causes trouble, hurting many. It blinds you to the opportunities around you so that you cannot reach out in faith. Bitterness also opens the door to the enemy and keeps your prayers from being answered.

In Ruth 1:20-21, we see Naomi having experienced severe hardships, changed her name to Mara to express the bitterness and pain she felt. She had let married and secure but was now returning home a widow and poor.

In the story of the lost son in Luke 15, the young man who had taken his inheritance and ran off, returned home broken and humbled. He was greeted by a father who had dealt with the bitterness and was now overjoyed and forgiving. The elder brother on the other hand was still bitter and unforgiving.
The difference between bitterness and joy is in our capacity to forgive.

Fear

Fear destroys your faith swiftly because it opens the door to the Satan to come in and attack you. So before you know it you have a battle on your hands, trying to get rid of the fear. never mind getting back to believing the Lord for the answer. The idea is to get you to loose your focus. Fear instantly robs you of your faith and trust in the Lord. Without that you cannot receive the answers to your prayers.

Fear sometimes comes in without you even being aware of it. When fear grips you because of some bad news you receive, once you entertain it, you open the door to Satan which allows him to steal your faith.
He will lie to you and tell you this thing is going to happen, so you need to take your stand when he tries to paralyze you with fear. You then confess what the word says about your situation, no matter what the situation looks like in the natural.

Peter came out the boat and began to walk on water, when he took his eyes off Jesus he began to sink. Waves are contrary, they come in different forms to discourage you, to drive fear into you. When you take your eyes off of Jesus, you take your eyes off of faith.

Guilt

Guilt is another hindrance that cause your faith to be shipwrecked. Guilt cause you to feel like a failure and it makes you feel that the Lord will not give you what you asked for.
It causes you to loose your self-confidence. In John 3 21-22, it says "Beloved if our heart does not condemn us, then we have confidence towards God and whatever we ask for,we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do those things which are pleasing in His sight"
If you feel guilty, all you need to do is repent and ask God for forgiveness.

Shaky Faith

In James 1:6, it says " But let him ask in faith, not doubting. For he that doubts is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
If you are double minded the decisions you make are split. You try to live by faith and protect your fear at the same time. You make faith statements and then when doubt steps in you think perhaps I shouldn't say that I should wait until I see it

If you are constantly doubting, it becomes a stumbling block, therefore you cannot expect to receive what you are asking for. If you doubt you are unstable in your ways. The enemy will bring some negative thought hoping that you will listen to him in order to bring doubt in the situation.

You need to remind Satan what the word says about your situation, reject his lies and let him know that you have the victory. God has promised that He will always cause you to triumph in Christ. You are guaranteed victory over any adversity you face.

So get rid of the hindrances, and let you faith work for you today, and become a winner.

Keys to building what God has made known unto you.

In the book of Nehemiah you can find keys to building what God has made know unto you. Nehemiah went from being the king's cupbearer to becoming a great leader who rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem. Nehemiah was a model of commitment with great leadership skills

Seek God 1:4-10

Nehemiah took the time to fast and pray and seek the counsel God before he began, he made intercession on behalf of his people. He dealt with his emotions and consulted God to gain peace before moving forward. Like Nehemiah you should carefully seek God's guidance and direction before moving ahead with any plans. Get the wisdom of God for the situation

Assess the situation 2:13

Nehemiah assessed the building of the wall from every angle, he did a thorough investigation, gathering all the facts concerning the present situation of the wall.
He then made his plans on how to go about the rebuilding of the walls before he did any thing, Before you start building you need to count the cost because things are not always as they appear.
Nehemiah put all his knowledge and experience into deciding what should be done.

Become passionate and willing 2:11

Nehemiah was passionate about rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. His passion drove him to the point that he had to go to Jerusalem to fulfill the desire of his heart. Nehemiah was not only passionate but he was also willing to get the job done, a city without walls is open for attacks from the enemy
Like Nehemiah you need to be passionate and willing to do what God has made known unto you.
Your passion will motivate and propel you forward so that you can get the job done despite the circumstances .

Share with others 2: 17-18

Nehemiah shared his vision with others and it inspired the leaders to rebuild the walls. As he shared with them, they ere impressed with the vision. Too often we underestimate people and don't challenge them with the dreams hat God has given us to do his work. It takes team work to accomplish the job.

Use your present position 2: 1-8

Nehemiah being the king's trusted cup-bearer was in a unique position to speak to the king.
He used his position to find favor with the king, and he was given access to bring his plans to fruition.
Nehemiah realized the power of favor and influence and he used it to intercede for his people
As you show respect to those in authority and always excelling at your job, no matter how minor you feel your role may be; your effort will pay off in the future

Look out for opposition 2:19; 4:1-3

God has called you to do a great work, but you should know that the enemy always comes to oppose what God has called you to do. When faced with opposition see it as an opportunity to grow in the things of God. Whenever God opens a door for you their will always be opposition to keep you from going through, how you react will determine what will happen in the situation. The key is obeying God.
Many times people will come into your life to oppose you but that person can turn out to be the greatest blessing in your life, because adversity will drive you to God. Let your opposition strengthen you. Do not hold bitterness against your opposer, turn a deaf ear to the negative things that people will say in order to keep your spirit from being contaminated. Love your enemies and do good to them that hate you. Let the opposition push you to strive for a greater level of excellence, it is your opportunity to become more intimate with God.
Ask God to help you to remain positive at all times. When you obey God in your opposition, you know that what the devil meant for evil God will turn it around for your good.

You do not have time to come down from the wall, you have a great task ahead of you to complete.

Tag and be Tagged

My friend Lori at Persevere "tagged" me and asked me to play this little tagging game with her. Here is how it works.

The Rules:

1. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
3. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
4. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.

Eight random facts about me:
:
Well I guess its time to reveal somethings about myself, its not one of my favorite past times. People sometimes are intimidated, I hope not, I don't really care much for name tags.

1. I made my first missions trip in 1998.

2. I love to read, teach but lately I have been doing more writing.

3. I recently went to the School of the Prophets

4. I have 8 siblings

5. My grandfather was mullato, he came from St Vincent in search for gold and never returned home, so I don't really know much of that side of my family. So I have begun to do an ancestry search which has taken me to St Vincent. and Scotland so far.

6. Love scenic pictures especially the sunset ones.

7. I love to make sweet potato salad and whole wheat banana bread.

8. I prefer to eat organic foods so I have started my own vegetable garden and my, the taste is so different.

Dangers of low self-esteem

Having low self-esteem can hinder you from receiving what God has in store for you. Such was the case of the children of Israel.

And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak which come of the giants, and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.(Numbers 13:33)

God had promised the children of Israel the land of Canaan, but when the twelve spies went out to scout the land, ten of them felt that entering the land was not worth it, because they saw the giants which drove fear into their hearts. They allowed the negatives to push aside the good and they forgot who their God was, the same God that brought them out of Egypt and gave them victory over their enemies. They forgot the miracles God did for them in the past and what He promised them. He was the one that would give them the power to conquer the land but they allowed all the negatives to choke out the word He gave to them.

They allowed fear to overtake them, fear of the giants in the land made them see themselves as nothing. They saw themselves as grasshoppers, and that's how they felt the giants saw them. As a man thinks in his heart so is he. They did not think that they were valuable or of any importance
They were a classic case of people suffering from low self-esteem, they were a complaining lot, they self criticized and criticized others. They lacked the drive and motivation to go ahead, they readily displayed their anger. They were argumentative and intolerant.

Low self-esteem affects all areas of your life. Everyone feels a little inferior at times but when it becomes intense and long lasting that is where the problem begins. Because these feelings build up over the years it is unrealistic to expect changes to come immediately, it will take time.
You have to start with your thinking, as a man thinks in his heart so is he. Change your mind set, come to the place where you begin to know your self worth, know who God says you are. We have been redeemed and given a new nature, so walk in it.

Who are You ?

When I checked my mail this morning, I found an email from my sister and after reading it I knew I had to share it with you today. It made me chuckle but then on the serious side, there are some truths that we just can't ignore,It makes us ask ourselves who we really are.

Carrots, Eggs, & Coffee!

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up, She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, ' Tell me what you see.'

'Carrots, eggs, and coffee,' she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.

Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, 'What does it mean, mother?'

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

'Which are you?' she asked her daughter. 'When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest ?do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.

Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

May we all be COFFEE!!!!!!!

How to keep spirtually in shape

Believers are supposed to keep spiritually in shape the same way they strive to keep physically in shape, if they are going to gain victory in their lives. It's easy to get lazy and begin to slip up, and when that happens you become spiritually malnourished, you begin to dry up

There are some basic things one can do to stay in shape

Meditate on the Word

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
You have to keep in the word, its not a hit and miss business, but a daily dose of the word. The word is spiritual food, which you cannot survive without, it is life. The devil doesn't want you to find out that you are full of the resurrected life of Jesus, the prospect of that frightens him.
The word tells you how to live, take a scripture verse and read it and read it until you get a revelation of what God is saying to you, he will give you understanding
The Lord told Joshua that if he would meditate upon the word day and night and obey its instructions that he will be prosperous and successful.

Pray

You must spend time in prayer, ten minutes here and there won't work. We are talking about commitment here. After praying, you should take time to sit quietly to hear what the Lord has to say to you.Too often we run out after praying, not waiting upon the Lord to speak to us.

Fellowship with believers

The word urges that you do not neglect to fellowship with each other in order that you might strengthen one another. You are to come together with people like yourself who know God, to worship Him.

Endure hardship

Endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
Trials and tribulation will come but we need to know that God will use them for our good, they come to make us strong. So endure the testings and hold unto your faith because the enemy will try to get you to give up.

Avoid arguments

Avoid all empty, idle, useless talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness.
Useless arguments undermines your faith, don't get involved in conflicts over doctrines

No entanglements
Do not get entangled in the affairs of this life, instead choose to spend time with God. The cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches will take the word right out of you.

Which King is reigning on your throne?

In the year King Uzziah died, Isaiah saw the Lord.

Isaiah was unable to see the Lord before because someone else had his attention While King Uzziah was alive Isaiah was unable to see God all he saw was Uzziah, the earthly King he couldn't see the King of Kings. He allowed everything around him to hinder his vision of God, when the hindrances were removed Isaiah could see himself in comparison to a great and holy God. A man that was sinful a man with unclean lips, he never recognized that aspect of himself before.

It is only as we have an encounter with the Lord can we truly see ourselves, that we are as filthy rags. As Isaiah was able to recognize his sinfulness he became aware that he was without power and felt inadequate to do anything without God. So he submitted himself to God and allowed God to take control. As Isaiah was cleansed, God was able to commission him to go forth to be his messenger. Allowing God to purify us may be painful but we must be purified in order that we can truly represent God, who is pure and holy

So the question today is, which king is reigning on your throne? What is holding you back from seeing God as He is? Is it your friends, money, family, job or fear ? This king in your life needs to die, lay it on the altar of sacrifice. Our daily struggles and pressures of this life narrow our view of God, but we need to see God the way Isaiah saw him high and lifted up

Whatever has your attention and is causing you not to see God in his power and holiness, you need to remove it from the throne today.
Today is your day for change, you can't serve both God and mammon, someone will be neglected. If the truth be known Jesus is the one most times that gets the back seat.

Which ever king is there he is taking up God's place, remove it and put Jesus back on the throne and see your life begin to change. If your are going to be about the Father's business, to tell what He has spoken unto you, Its time to put things in order. When Jesus is on the throne of your heart your life will be controlled by Him.

Prayer Request

Brothers, Sisters and Friends,

It has indeed been a pleasure serving you, and I thank God that He has allowed me to touch your life in some way. Today I come to you and ask for your prayers.

My pastor is on a month's vacation this month and I have been asked to preach two Fridays at the Miracle and Healing Service and at two Sunday Worship Services besides teaching my regular Bible Studies on Tuesday nights.
I can only do this through Christ that strengthens me.
Please pray for guidance, health, strength, direction and whatever other areas the Holy Spirit ministers to you

Thank you for your prayer support.

Be Blessed

God wants you well

"For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord"
(Jeremiah 30:17)

God wants you healthy and strong in every single area of your life.

. He wants your body to be well. He wants you free from the bondages of pain, sickness, and care. Free from the worries and woes of this earthly life.

In this day and hour, He needs you well. He needs you living in victory and healing so that you can teach others how to do it too. We're living in a time when that kind of knowledge is an absolute necessity. There's no more time to be uninformed and unprepared for the devil's attacks. .

Jesus gave Himself in death so that we could be well. He was raised in life, ever making intercession for us now so that we can be well. And He wants us to be healthy and strong as a witness in these last days to a world that's filled with terror--a witness of His love, His grace, and His power.

Receive Jesus' healing power in every area of your life. Start applying it by faith right now. Commit yourself to getting well and growing strong in every area of your life today.

My First Blog Award

I am so blessed and honored to have received my very first blog award! I received it from Lori at her Persevere blog.
It is the Arte Y Pico award and it is given to those who inspire others with their creative energy and talents in writing, artwork, design or contributions to the blogging community. It originated here.

What does the expression mean? Well, apparently it doesn’t exactly translate to English, but it loosely translates to, “Wow. The Best Art. Over the top.” (This was taken from the Arte Y Pico blog.)

As a recipient of this award, I have been asked to share the award with five blogs that have been a blessing to me. There are so many that I love and visit regularly. There really are some incredibly talented people writing in the blogosphere. Here are the 5 that I have chosen to share this award with.

Come as you are

Let Us Pray For You

Watching Over Those Who Serve"

Therefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though you know [them], and be established in the present truth."
2 Peter 1:12:

There are many different aspects to praying

When you come to the Lord to pray , come as you are! You don't need to put on a show, or pretend to be someone that you're not. The Lord accepts you and loves you regardless of whether you are rich or poor, fat or thin, successful or a loser.

Whatever your status is in life He loves you, and He will always welcome you. In fact, that is the whole object of prayer. It is not simply about getting all your needs met. That is only one tiny part of it!

Prayer involves developing a relationship with Jesus - and that is the beginning.
Come into His presence just as you are, and know that He accepts you. The Lord is waiting for you to come to Him so that He can pour His love upon you

Keep your language simple and down-to-earth when you pray.Be specific

You need to realize that He wants to give to you whatever you are desiring

You need to come to Him like a child does ,in simple faith, believing that 'He is real, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him..

Pray in love,,just as bitterness and anger is one of the quickest ways to block an answer to prayer, so flowing in love will bring about a release of what you have been waiting for.

Try these simple steps and begin to see your prayers being answered

Keys to overcoming the obstacles in your Life

Let Us Pray For You

Watching Over Those Who Serve

There are obstacles in your life and you don't know what to do,there are several keys to overcoming your obstacles, if you give heed to them you will be begin to see them removed and your life transformed.

You are above the obstacles
You have to know who you are, you are an overcomer and more than a conqueror. You are above and not below, the head and not the tail. God has given you authority as a believer. Greater is He who is in you than he that is in the world. He has given you power over all the powers of the enemy.
You have been seeing the obstacles like giants and yourself like the grasshopper. When you do that you are already defeated in your mind because you are displaying a grasshopper mentality. Because your thinking is small, all your circumstances look insurmountable.
.

Have a desire to overcome
You must have a desire to overcome, desire change and never resign yourself to whatever life throws at you.You don't have to accept the status quo. You have been in a bad situation for so long that you believe that's the best you can have, but that's not true. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.The doctors report says that you will have to remain in wheel chair for the rest of your life but the word says you are healed. The doctor's report is a fact but the truth is Jesus has the last word.

Make the effort for yourself
You need to begin to make the effort for yourself. A certain man had an impediment for thirty-eight years and when he was asked if he would like to be made whole, he said he had no one to put him in the water when it is troubled.
Don't be like this man, he gave up even before he tried, he saw all the obstacles in front of him , you have to make the effort for yourself. Its better to try than never to try at all.The violent take it by force, this violent faith always takes things.

Forget the past
Forget your past, don't look back, you can't look back and move forward it will hinder you.You have to forget those things which are behind and look forward to those things that are before you.The past will keep you in bondage, old things have passed away, you are living in the present.
You have to break the old patterns of destructive thinking, how are you going to do that by taking note of where your thoughts are coming from and putting God first and beginning to think the way God thinks. For as a man thinketh in his hear , so is he.
Your thoughts direct the success in your life, whether in your career, relationships, health or your faith.Today you are a picture of what you spoke in your heart in the past, change what you speak today and you future will change.

Live in expectancy
You have to live in a place of expectancy. the man at the Beautiful Gate looked eagerly unto them expecting to receive something, he expected alms but he got more than he was asking for , he got his life back. He expected something and he got it.
And throughout Jesus' earthly ministry , when anyone sought out Jesus to do something for them, it was because they were living in expectancy, always expecting the master to touch their situation.
When the woman with the issue of blood touched the hem of Jesus' garment, .she expected to receive her healing.

Refuse fear
Refuse to be dominated by fear. Job said , the thing which I greatly fear is come upon me.
Whatever you continually fear will come upon you , don't blame your circumstances on misfortune, bad luck, other people or fate.
You ask yourself for it by giving place to fear. You are your own biggest enemy. Change all this right now.
God has not given you a spirit of fear but power and love and a sound mind.

It's time to over come the obstacles in your life, take control.
No matter what obstacles you are facing, realize that the Lord has greater purpose for you.Where all you saw before was an obstacle in front of you, you will soon come to a place where you find yourself standing on it.
Repentance is a God given opportunity to enter into the blessings of the Lord and escape from the oppression of the enemy.
If you haven't ask Jesus into your heart as Savior and asked Him to forgive you of your sins, it is as simple as following these steps:

1) ADMIT YOU HAVE SINNED. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

2) BELIEVE IN JESUS. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

3) CONFESS AND LEAVE YOUR SIN. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)

About Me

My photo
A Christian who loves to write about christian living, spiritual health and self improvement. I pray daily that the love and grace of God will be poured out through my life to others, so that those who are in bondage can be delivered and the captives set free. I remind myself daily that whether or not I have "witnessed" I am still a witness in everything I do.
