Are you bearing fruit or are you drying up?

The new year has begun and you have made many resolutions, but the truth of the matter is that many of them are already broken. You are still struggling physically, mentally, emotionally, financially and spiritually even though you say Jesus is Lord over your life. There seems to be no end to your struggles, things in your life seems to be drying up your love for Him seems to be waxing colds, there seems to be no fire in you. So what do you do when you find your self in such a state?

I am the vine and you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing . Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned (John 15:5-6 NLT).

Its time to get honest with yourself. In order to move forward you need to reflect back on your life to see if you have been doing what you were called to do. What have you done for Jesus over the last year, have you produced any lasting fruit? Have you been a fruit bearer or have you been unproductive? The enemy gets blamed for many things which often is because of our own negligence in our walk with the Lord. You may still have a dance and a shout, and are acting religious but on the inside you are like dead mens' bone, dried up. Its time for reflection and repentance.

Are you still fully connected to the vine? They are many branches that are not fully connected to the vine and eventually they wither and die spiritually over time because they are nor receiving life giving nutrients, nourishment that is vital in your walk with God. The question is are you still fully connected to this life giving source? If so is it fully or partially? What is your prayer life and your word life like.

Maybe you have been trying to live a good and honest life but the only way this can be achieved is by staying connected to Jesus - The Vine. The bible clearly states that if you remain connected to the vine, you are going to bear fruit, and you may ask anything and it will be granted to you. Even as you bear fruit He will prune you, cutting back what is not beneficial so that you can be strengthened in your faith and character in order that you may produce even more fruit. Apart from Jesus your efforts will not produce any lasting fruit, you will become unproductive.

So for 2009 I challenge you, when thinking about your circumstances, reflect back on where you have been and where you are now, and get with it. Abide in Him stay connected to the source and see Him work great things in and through your life.

Thanks Leon

Repentance is a God given opportunity to enter into the blessings of the Lord and escape from the oppression of the enemy.
If you haven't ask Jesus into your heart as Savior and asked Him to forgive you of your sins, it is as simple as following these steps:

1) ADMIT YOU HAVE SINNED. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

2) BELIEVE IN JESUS. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

3) CONFESS AND LEAVE YOUR SIN. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)

About Me

My photo
A Christian who loves to write about christian living, spiritual health and self improvement. I pray daily that the love and grace of God will be poured out through my life to others, so that those who are in bondage can be delivered and the captives set free. I remind myself daily that whether or not I have "witnessed" I am still a witness in everything I do.
