Defeating the Goliath in your life

Have you met Goliath? I am quite sure you have, Goliath is that giant of an obstacle that seems to defy your prayer, that seems impossible to defeat. That one problem that you seem unable to get victory over, it makes you have thoughts of giving up.

I want to encourage you to confront your Goliath, its time to deal with this enemy that has been robbing you of your life, your happiness, your sleep. I am not sending you to confront anyone for the word says that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

So how can we defeat the Goliath in our lives? In the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17 we can lean how to

We need to identify the Goliath, very often we have difficulty identifying the real issue, when things seems not to be working we tend to blame somebody or we take out our frustration on something or someone, even the dog gets kicked . When we identify the real issue we can deal with the problem not the smoke screen. Aim at the correct target, when people come against you need to recognize its not them but the enemy working through them. don't waste your time dealing with them , deal with the spirits that are operating through them.

We need to trust God, when David went to fight Goliath, he did not trust in the armor of Saul or the strength of the Israelite army, he trusted in God. David believed that God would defeat Goliath, God was his strength and the battle was the Lord's. As we come into a place of confrontation with Goliath, our first defense is our relationship with God. Based on our relationship with God we will not listen to what others have to say but what He says. God can deliver us, when we look back to where has brought us from and our past victories, we have a reference point, if God has done it before he can do it again. The enemy has all kinds of disguises and masks that he wears but he is still the same enemy trying a different tactic

We need not to fear, it doesn't matter how huge your Goliath might look, do not be afraid. From a human standpoint Goliath had a definite advantage over David but what Goliath did not realize was that in fighting David he had to fight God. The soldiers saw a huge giant, but David saw a mere man trying to defeat almighty God, David saw the situation from God's point of view. You need to begin to see your Goliath from God's point of view. When you begin to see things from God's perspective, things will be different.
This is a word of encouragement to help you in your daily spiritual walk. If you are blessed by this word, why not leave a comment telling us how it blessed you. You may also share the blessing and forward it to a friend, relative or associate who you know will be blessed by these words.
If you do not know the Lord and would like to you can do so right now by reading below .
"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Roman 10:9
Salvation is a gift from God that is made readily available to those who repent, believe and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior and that He died on the cross and rose from the dead to save mankind (Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10). This gift cannot be earned through good deeds or by simply being a "good person" (Ephesians 2:8;1 Timothy 1:9). It is a matter of faith. The gospel also offers you a promise, to save you from the penalty of sin; we must believe it.

What must you do complete your salvation?

1. You must admit that you are a sinner.
2. You must repent of you sins.
3. You must confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

You can pray right now...

Lord, I admit that I have sinned and made myself unclean before you, the Holy Spirit. I understand that I deserve death as the penalty for my sins, and I believe that Jesus Christ paid this price for my sins, and I believe that Jesus Christ paid this price with His Blood. I want to turn away from my life -style of selfishness and sin; I repent. I confess Jesus Christ as my Savior and I put Him in control of my life as my Lord. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

No comments:

Repentance is a God given opportunity to enter into the blessings of the Lord and escape from the oppression of the enemy.
If you haven't ask Jesus into your heart as Savior and asked Him to forgive you of your sins, it is as simple as following these steps:

1) ADMIT YOU HAVE SINNED. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

2) BELIEVE IN JESUS. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

3) CONFESS AND LEAVE YOUR SIN. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)
