Open Our Eyes

Our Daily Devotional:

Open Our Eyes

2 Kings 6:17 NIV: And Elisha prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes so he may see." Then the LORD opened the servant´s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

I once saw a man talking with a woman, and another man came and stood between the two and began talking to the woman. This infuriated the first man who was now looking at the back of the second man´s head. The worse part was that the second man seemed completely oblivious to his actions-and it was not the first time. It´s easy to take people for granted, or treat them as though they do not exist. We may not even mean to. But for some reason or another, we, in some fashion, turn our backs to them-paying them no attention-seeing only what we want to. Consider how easy it is to disregard the devil. We know how easy it is to pay no heed to those we can see, how much easier those we cannot? Scripture tells us that, "Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour" (1 Pt.5:8). While, with God, we do not need to fear our enemy, we should be ever so careful never to turn our back on him. He is real, and the destruction he brings surrounds us. May God give us eyes to see what we must, and wisdom to act on it.

Repentance is a God given opportunity to enter into the blessings of the Lord and escape from the oppression of the enemy.
If you haven't ask Jesus into your heart as Savior and asked Him to forgive you of your sins, it is as simple as following these steps:

1) ADMIT YOU HAVE SINNED. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

2) BELIEVE IN JESUS. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

3) CONFESS AND LEAVE YOUR SIN. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)

A Christian who loves to write about christian living, spiritual health and self improvement. I pray daily that the love and grace of God will be poured out through my life to others, so that those who are in bondage can be delivered and the captives set free. I remind myself daily that whether or not I have "witnessed" I am still a witness in everything I do.
