A Good Knight

A Good Knight

Colossians 3:23-24 NIV: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Perhaps you´ve heard the legends of good knights; men of valor who lived by a code; ready to give their lives for king and country. They are portrayed as men of integrity, honor, and pursuers of truth and justice. We might wonder these days if such people really ever existed. For in our world today, such qualities are scarce and such noble character uncared for as the code of so many is to care first and foremost for one--themselves. But, in truth, there is a most noble King who is Christ, and there is a need for many to swear allegiance to Him--to uphold His code, His truth, and His justice--to be a people of integrity who would die for King and His Kingdom. In every country, in every city, in every workplace and school; in every community and every church, there is a need for those who will take up the Sword of Truth, no longer living to satisfy themselves, but living in service and sacrifice to the King. In every time and every place, there is still the need for a good knight.

A Time to Mourn

Our Daily Devotional:

A Time to Mourn

Ecclesiastes 3:1,4 KJV: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven...a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

We do not like pain, or confrontation. We avoid difficult times, and situations. Most Christians, just like non-Christians, seek to make each day as carefree, comfortable, and pleasing as possible. The writer of Ecclesiastes tells us, "...there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." There is a time to laugh, and to dance, and to love. There is a time to enjoy, and with that we are content. But is there also a time to mourn, or be solemn, or fight against ungodliness in the world and within our own lives? Is there a time to face pain so that God can use it to better us; or to allow confrontation for the resolution God would bring? Throughout scripture, it is clear that there is a need to mourn over sin and what it has done; and to weep for a godless world. May it be that each of us seeks God in every season--that we will weep when it is time to weep, and mourn when it is time to mourn, and fast and pray for the salvation of a people living in darkness.

Repentance is a God given opportunity to enter into the blessings of the Lord and escape from the oppression of the enemy.
If you haven't ask Jesus into your heart as Savior and asked Him to forgive you of your sins, it is as simple as following these steps:

1) ADMIT YOU HAVE SINNED. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

2) BELIEVE IN JESUS. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

3) CONFESS AND LEAVE YOUR SIN. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)

About Me

My photo
A Christian who loves to write about christian living, spiritual health and self improvement. I pray daily that the love and grace of God will be poured out through my life to others, so that those who are in bondage can be delivered and the captives set free. I remind myself daily that whether or not I have "witnessed" I am still a witness in everything I do.
