Living the abundant life

The majority of Christians today live below their privileges in Christ, constantly denying themselves the abundant life. In John 10:10 we understand that Jesus came that we might have the abundant life, a life superior in quality. a life that is exceeding, abundant more than we can ask, think or even imagine.

Our negative words keep controlling and dominating us thus establishing our standard of living and because of this our lives can never rise above our confession. We have to learn to confess ( speak) what the word says. Change your thoughts and your words and your life will begin to change. If you make an observation, you will observe that every time you allow yourself to think and speak negatively you act negatively, you are ruled by your words. You talk fear and fear increases its grip upon you.

A wrong confession is a confession of defeat and failure. When Jesus arose from the dead he left a defeated Satan, always remember Satan is defeated. Jesus defeated Satan for us, he destroyed his works for us, he conquered him for us. Jesus' victory was our victory. Confess the authority he gave you over Satan. Behold he has given you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the powers of the enemy. Be not afraid of the circumstances because you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you

Keep your confession don't change it every time something looks contrary. Let God's word abide in your heart, because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. With your words you constantly paint a picture of your inner self. Whatever is in your speech that is the way your heart is. Your confession is your real faith talking. When you say what God says He will make it good, begin to make God's word the standard for your life and your life will begin to change

Fasting 2014 - Day 1

Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

It is the beginning of the year, a time when many Christians around the world will begin to fast.
Today I begin 40 days of prayer and fasting.

Jan 13th - Feb 21st, 2014

It is time to Arise and Shine

God's will for everyone that believes in Him is to rise and make progress in every area of their lives. There are times in our lives when we become stagnant and are not making progress.
It is possible to fall into sin, error, or failure. Whichever is the case God is willing to draw you out so that those positions will only be temporary and are not meant to be the end or the final state of your life.
So even as you spend time with God in prayer and fasting know that God can change any situation that has brought a cloud of darkness over your life.
God has a plan to raise you up from the state of spiritual death, and any thing that is dead in your body or your life can be raised back to life by the power of His Spirit.
Shine for Jesus in 2014

Fasting and Prayer

You may be a believer who had a passion for the Lord but somewhere along the way you lost the fire. Fasting and prayer are the tools that will bring you back in line. It releases so much more in your life than you can comprehend.

When you choose to begin a fast, you are doing something out of the ordinary. You are breaking out the norm, the everyday routine. You can’t keep doing the same thing and expect to have different results. Fasting is doing things differently and expecting God to move in a supernatural way!

When we can control the appetite we can control the flesh-king of our body. Fasting gives us a holy sense of true values. So as you go into your time of fasting watch how you begin to die to the fleshly desires that were becoming hindrances in your life and threatened to destroy you.

There are several types of fasting, the one you choose is between you and God. He will honor your best sacrifice. I encourage you to seek the Lord in prayer and let your decisions about your biblical fasting come from Him. Ask the Lord to show you areas to target during your time of fasting and prayer. There must be purpose in your fasting. God will reward you in fasting if you seek Him with the right motives and in a scriptural way.

Get your plan prepared. Be sure you have a clear goal for your fast. Is it direction, restoration of a relationship, healing or financial breakthrough? Moses fasted before receiving the Ten Commandments. Hannah fasted and prayed to have a child. Jesus fasted forty days in the wilderness. Why are you fasting?

Begin with a clear goal. Be specific. Why are you fasting? Do you need direction, healing, restoration of marriage or family issues? Are you facing financial difficulties? Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance. Read the Bible and pray as often as you can throughout the day. Get away from the normal distractions as much as possible and keep your heart and mind set on seeking God's face.

Fasting without prayer, without time spent humbling yourself before the Lord, will just leave you empty. But a heart poured out before God will be full
Will you interrupt your lives and your routines enough to regain the fire and truly become broken before the Lord? Remember when you fast, it is common to experience headaches and irritability as your body detox and experience withdrawals from caffeine and sugar. Of course you will feel hungry, but use these moments as a reminder of why you’re fasting and pause to pray and seek the Lord.

Don’t wait for the perfect time to begin and don’t quit if you stumble. Remember, it is the attitude of a heart sincerely seeking Him to which God responds with. May God bless you as you dedicate this time to prayer and fasting.

Breaking Generational Curses

What was the #1 blog post for all time?

Breaking Generational Curses

Due to the fact that so much of interest was shown , I am going to revisit this post.

You are saved, baptized and full of the Holy Ghost, yet there are some areas that you are still struggling to get victory. When we got saved the spirit man was born again, but the strongholds that were allowed previously into our lives were never dealt with. After going to God and confessing and repenting of your sins, there are still some habits that seems not to go.You keep doing the same thing over and over.It becomes repetitious and this can signal that there is a stronghold in your life.

Many of the things going on in our lives such as fears, jealousy, mental illness, hatred, low self-esteem, gluttony, rejection, anger ,sexual perversions, spiritual heaviness fear are frequently related to what are called generational curses.. Curses which can be passed down from generation to generation, often times without you even being aware of their presence and yet have the ability to affect you.

Are you chained or anchored

Judges 16: 18-21 18 And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand. 19 And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand. 20 And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him. 21 But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.

Chained means to be bound to something.
Anchored means to be secured to,something that will prevent you from drifting.
If you own a boat and you will drop anchor in order to get whatever you need to be done. When you drift it causes you move from where you want to be to some place you don’t want to.

Although you might not be physically bound with chains like Samson , you might be bound financially, emotionally, mentally. You feel like you are in an emotional cycle. You are at a place where you are unable to see. You struggle and try to break free, held a captive, you are broken, crushed, strongholds weighing you down, you feel hopeless and fail to understand that the price for your freedom has already been paid in full.

Happy New Year

A very happy and God-blessed year to all my readers!

I believe that God wants to give us a great year of advancement in our own spiritual lives and also in the extension of His Kingdom.

Begin this year with praise and thanksgiving for what the Lord has done for you in 2013.

Believe for new doors, new opportunities, new grace, new favor, new ideas, new vision, new faith, new anointing, and new levels for 2014.

Renounce all the works of darkness, and recommit your life to love, humility, holiness, faith, prayer, worship, and the will of God.

Loose yourself from all spirits of darkness that would try to follow you into 2014.

Speak health, healing, life, prosperity, wealth, and shalom at the beginning of this new year.

Use what you have learned last year to launch you into another season of blessing and increase.

Decree failures and frustrations from last year will not carry over into this new year.

Prepare yourself for a new season of breakthrough and increase.

Decree that 2014 will be a year of blessing, favor and increase for your life.

. A New Year is God's Gift.

In the joyful moments - thank Him.
In the busy moments -bless Him.
In the trying moments - trust Him.
In the quiet moments - praise Him.

Repentance is a God given opportunity to enter into the blessings of the Lord and escape from the oppression of the enemy.
If you haven't ask Jesus into your heart as Savior and asked Him to forgive you of your sins, it is as simple as following these steps:

1) ADMIT YOU HAVE SINNED. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

2) BELIEVE IN JESUS. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

3) CONFESS AND LEAVE YOUR SIN. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)

About Me

My photo
A Christian who loves to write about christian living, spiritual health and self improvement. I pray daily that the love and grace of God will be poured out through my life to others, so that those who are in bondage can be delivered and the captives set free. I remind myself daily that whether or not I have "witnessed" I am still a witness in everything I do.
