The power of fear

2 Timothy 1:7 says, For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind..

1 John 4:18 says, There is no fear in love , but perfect love casteth out fear, because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Fear is the only power Satan has over man, it is a spirit, and it is tormenting. As long as you are afraid of the devil you cannot break his power over your life. Fear does not come from God and if God is not the source of it then the only other place it can come from is Satan. Fear is the devil's counterfeit for faith. If you are not walking in faith you are walking in fear. Fear neutralizes your effectiveness for God, and stops you from doing what God has called you to do. When you allow fear to rule you, you make fear more powerful than God. God is greater than all your fears. Fear brings unbelief which prevents the promises of God from being received in your life. Satan's objective is not merely to oppress you and keep you in bondage to fear, but to lull you into a state of unbelief through that fear which leads to rebellion against God's word so you walk in disobedience to what God has spoken to you.

Satan had instilled fear into the minds of the children of Israel after they learnt about the giants in the land but what really hindered them was their unbelief. Hebrews 3:19 says that they could not enter in because of their unbelief. Fear is based on Satan planting seeds of doubt in your minds and imaginations because the mind is the battle ground where the warring takes place, but 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says, For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds. Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

Hebrews 11:1 says that faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen, therefore faith is the manifestation of the mental pictures you build up in your mind. Your imagination is the first thing you are to bring under control if you are going to conquer fear. The reason is that fear first comes as a thought from the enemy, if you do not rebuke it you will be ruled by it. Most people who cheat on their spouses pictured it first, because it first came as a thought. You need to wake up and realize that your little fears are more dangerous than you think, because all the enemy want is a little doubt and when he gets in he begins to work on it and it will eventually lead to unbelief.

The Lord has been speaking to you about something He wants to do in your life but because of the little fears as you call it you are holding back but the truth is the devil has brought you into fear so that God cannot accomplish what He wants in your life. Your little fears are hindering you from purpose and destiny being fulfilled in your life. Do not let fear turn you back from fulfilling purpose and destiny as a believer you are to rise up and overcome your fears because all those who do not overcome will be cast in the lake of fire. Revelation 21:8 says, But the fearful, and unbelieving and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.

So bind fear and cast it out of your life today because it is a spirit. After you have done that, get your love walk in order because their is no fear in love, perfect love casteth out fear. Shut the door to fear and keep it shut.

"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Roman 10:9
Salvation is a gift from God that is made readily available to those who repent, believe and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior and that He died on the cross and rose from the dead to save mankind (Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10). This gift cannot be earned through good deeds or by simply being a "good person" (Ephesians 2:8;1 Timothy 1:9). It is a matter of faith. The gospel also offers you a promise, to save you from the penalty of sin; we must believe it.

What must you do complete your salvation?

1. You must admit that you are a sinner.
2. You must repent of you sins.
3. You must confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

You can pray right now...

Lord, I admit that I have sinned and made myself unclean before you, the Holy Spirit. I understand that I deserve death as the penalty for my sins, and I believe that Jesus Christ paid this price for my sins, and I believe that Jesus Christ paid this price with His Blood. I want to turn away from my life -style of selfishness and sin; I repent. I confess Jesus Christ as my Savior and I put Him in control of my life as my Lord. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Overcoming supernatural strongholds

The spiritual battles you face are not a figment of your imagination, they are real. You are wrestling against unseen spiritual forces of darkness. The evil forces of fallen angels headed by Satan. They are organized demonic forces and they are everywhere. Where do you think the man that had the legion of demons in the country of t Gadara got his superhuman strength? Supernatural power is needed to defeat supernatural strongholds and God has provided that power.
Ephesians 6:12 says, For we are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world and against evil spirits in heavenly places.(NLT)

The agenda of the enemy is destruction, to stop you from growing up in the Lord, to stop you from doing God's will, to destroy your confidence in God and steal your joy, to get you to turn your back on God, to divide families, the Body of Christ or any other area, the idea is to stop you period, it doesn't matter the enemy wants to destroy. That's his mission to steal, kill and destroy.
If you think about the battles you are facing right now, they are many, the different areas that the enemy is attacking, whether your health, finances, family or you job. You have prayed and done everything that is possible but their is no breakthrough. You have to remember that you are not fighting a physical battle but a spiritual one and the enemy has put up a barrier to stop you from getting the answers to your prayers. But Luke 10:19, says, He has given you power to thread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the powers of the enemy and nothing shall by any means harm you.

The reason why many Christians are not seeing breakthrough in overcoming these supernatural strongholds is because they are still relying on their strength, they are using carnal weapons instead of the weapons of prayer and fasting they have been given. Jesus said, This kind cometh out only by prayer and fasting. Its the only weapon you can use to penetrate and go beyond the surface into the spiritual realm. The key to overcoming supernatural strongholds is prayer and fasting, the weapon of power

Through prayer and fasting, the faith that moves mountains is released and nothing shall be impossible for you. Jesus lived in a realm where nothing was impossible, and that came from the times that he withdrew himself to pray. Through prayer the power of God was released in his life and he was able to speak to circumstances in people's lives and see them healed, delivered and set free. This prayer I am talking about is not your regular ten minute prayer, its a prayer where you are agonizing and travailing before God, where you are engaging the enemy one on one and not letting go until the enemy is defeated.

Out among the people Jesus did not pray for the sick or ask the Father to heal anyone, he spoke the word with power and authority and it was done. How was that possible, because he did his homework, he was prayed up, he spent time with the Father before he went out to minister to the people. So if you are going to overcome the supernatural strongholds, you have to take your pattern from Jesus and spend time with God and see the victory even before you go out there, then and only then you will see victory.

Offense

"But if we [really] are living and walking in the Light as He [Himself] is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another."
(1 John 1:7)

One area of our lives we need to particularly guard is the area of our relationships. We simply have to heed the Word of God where they're concerned. Let's not fuss with one another and criticize one another so much that we hinder the forces that God has given us to make us successful in this world.

Whenever you find yourself stumbling into failure or sin, check your love life. Sit down with the Lord and ask Him to show you if you're in strife with anyone or if you've taken offense. If you have, the devil can come in and trip you up.

Remember, taking offense never comes from God. He says we're to be rooted and grounded in love. So reject those feelings of offense. Give yourself to that person in love and in prayer. You'll be able to walk right on through that situation without ever stumbling at all.

Mark 4:17 tells us the devil uses those kinds of offenses to steal the Word from our hearts. He causes us to get crosswise with each other. Then he's able to pull the plug right out of us and drain the Word like water from a bucket.

Don't ever let that happen to you. If you hear another believer saying something that rubs you the wrong way and you catch yourself getting offended say, "Oh no you don't. You're not stealing the Word out of me, you lying devil." Then get right down on your knees and repent before God.

Search the Word and listen to the Spirit within you and find out what you should do. If you still feel what that person said to you was wrong, pray for him.

Strife also causes trouble in the spirit realm. It opens the door to the devil. It keeps our prayers from being answered. It even keeps our angels from moving on our behalf!

Peter wrote to husbands in 1 Peter 3:7 to live considerately with their wives. He said, "...bestowing honor on the woman as the weaker sex, since you are joint-heirs of the grace of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered." Husbands and wives. Parents and children. Co-workers. Fellow church members. All of us need to wake up to the danger of strife and start walking in love.

Shed the light of God's Word on your relationships. Dig into and get a revelation of the fact that we are all part of each other. Recognize that, as Ephesians tells us, we are one Body and one Spirit, and be eager and strive earnestly to guard and keep the harmony and oneness of that Spirit (Ephesians 4:3-4).

Let the power of God flow in all of your relationships. Learn to walk in the light

Defeating the Goliath in your life

Have you met Goliath? I am quite sure you have, Goliath is that giant of an obstacle that seems to defy your prayer, that seems impossible to defeat. That one problem that you seem unable to get victory over, it makes you have thoughts of giving up.

I want to encourage you to confront your Goliath, its time to deal with this enemy that has been robbing you of your life, your happiness, your sleep. I am not sending you to confront anyone for the word says that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

So how can we defeat the Goliath in our lives? In the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17 we can lean how to

We need to identify the Goliath, very often we have difficulty identifying the real issue, when things seems not to be working we tend to blame somebody or we take out our frustration on something or someone, even the dog gets kicked . When we identify the real issue we can deal with the problem not the smoke screen. Aim at the correct target, when people come against you need to recognize its not them but the enemy working through them. don't waste your time dealing with them , deal with the spirits that are operating through them.

We need to trust God, when David went to fight Goliath, he did not trust in the armor of Saul or the strength of the Israelite army, he trusted in God. David believed that God would defeat Goliath, God was his strength and the battle was the Lord's. As we come into a place of confrontation with Goliath, our first defense is our relationship with God. Based on our relationship with God we will not listen to what others have to say but what He says. God can deliver us, when we look back to where has brought us from and our past victories, we have a reference point, if God has done it before he can do it again. The enemy has all kinds of disguises and masks that he wears but he is still the same enemy trying a different tactic

We need not to fear, it doesn't matter how huge your Goliath might look, do not be afraid. From a human standpoint Goliath had a definite advantage over David but what Goliath did not realize was that in fighting David he had to fight God. The soldiers saw a huge giant, but David saw a mere man trying to defeat almighty God, David saw the situation from God's point of view. You need to begin to see your Goliath from God's point of view. When you begin to see things from God's perspective, things will be different.

Hindrances to your Faith

Your faith does not seem to be working, therefore it means that there are hindrances somewhere. You need to find out what it is so that you can walk in faith. Even though you have been believing God, you don't seem to be getting the answers you have been looking for, you've had to struggle. Its time to begin to look to see if there are any hindrances in your way. See if there are any hindrances operating in our life.

So then what is faith? It is the ability to receive in this natural realm, what you are desiring from the Lord, that which you have already received from Him in the spirit realm. Faith draws out what you can't see and brings hope into reality. It assures success and is a defensive weapon against the enemy.

Bitterness

One area of our life that we need to particularly guard is the area of our relationships. Bitterness displays itself like thorns that grow in the heart and corrupt all life. When a root of bitterness springs up, it causes trouble, hurting many. It blinds you to the opportunities around you so that you cannot reach out in faith. Bitterness also opens the door to the enemy and keeps your prayers from being answered.

In Ruth 1:20-21, we see Naomi having experienced severe hardships, changed her name to Mara to express the bitterness and pain she felt. She had let married and secure but was now returning home a widow and poor.

In the story of the lost son in Luke 15, the young man who had taken his inheritance and ran off, returned home broken and humbled. He was greeted by a father who had dealt with the bitterness and was now overjoyed and forgiving. The elder brother on the other hand was still bitter and unforgiving.
The difference between bitterness and joy is in our capacity to forgive.

Fear

Fear destroys your faith swiftly because it opens the door to the Satan to come in and attack you. So before you know it you have a battle on your hands, trying to get rid of the fear. never mind getting back to believing the Lord for the answer. The idea is to get you to loose your focus. Fear instantly robs you of your faith and trust in the Lord. Without that you cannot receive the answers to your prayers.

Fear sometimes comes in without you even being aware of it. When fear grips you because of some bad news you receive, once you entertain it, you open the door to Satan which allows him to steal your faith.
He will lie to you and tell you this thing is going to happen, so you need to take your stand when he tries to paralyze you with fear. You then confess what the word says about your situation, no matter what the situation looks like in the natural.

Peter came out the boat and began to walk on water, when he took his eyes off Jesus he began to sink. Waves are contrary, they come in different forms to discourage you, to drive fear into you. When you take your eyes off of Jesus, you take your eyes off of faith.

Guilt

Guilt is another hindrance that cause your faith to be shipwrecked. Guilt cause you to feel like a failure and it makes you feel that the Lord will not give you what you asked for.
It causes you to loose your self-confidence. In John 3 21-22, it says "Beloved if our heart does not condemn us, then we have confidence towards God and whatever we ask for,we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do those things which are pleasing in His sight"
If you feel guilty, all you need to do is repent and ask God for forgiveness.

Shaky Faith

In James 1:6, it says " But let him ask in faith, not doubting. For he that doubts is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
If you are double minded the decisions you make are split. You try to live by faith and protect your fear at the same time. You make faith statements and then when doubt steps in you think perhaps I shouldn't say that I should wait until I see it

If you are constantly doubting, it becomes a stumbling block, therefore you cannot expect to receive what you are asking for. If you doubt you are unstable in your ways. The enemy will bring some negative thought hoping that you will listen to him in order to bring doubt in the situation.

You need to remind Satan what the word says about your situation, reject his lies and let him know that you have the victory. God has promised that He will always cause you to triumph in Christ. You are guaranteed victory over any adversity you face.

So get rid of the hindrances, and let you faith work for you today, and become a winner.

This is a word of encouragement to help you in your daily spiritual walk. If you are blessed by this word, why not leave a comment telling us how it blessed you. You may also share the blessing and forward it to a friend, relative or associate who you know will be blessed by these words.

Repentance is a God given opportunity to enter into the blessings of the Lord and escape from the oppression of the enemy.
If you haven't ask Jesus into your heart as Savior and asked Him to forgive you of your sins, it is as simple as following these steps:

1) ADMIT YOU HAVE SINNED. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

2) BELIEVE IN JESUS. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

3) CONFESS AND LEAVE YOUR SIN. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)
