Selling Out

Our Daily Devotional:

Selling Out

Hebrews 12:16 NIV: See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.

The momentary wants, passing pleasures, or even immediate needs of this life can at times easily cloud our thinking, and draw us to act in ways that are not truly in our own best interest. Esau, in his moment of need, considered his birthright a worthless thing. "Look, I am about to die," Esau told Jacob, "What good is the birthright to me?" As Christians, we have a birthright ourselvesan inheritance in the Kingdom of Heaven. It is truly a shame how many of us, for needs or wants, will consider our inheritance as nothing. We may not think of it that way. But when we knowingly sin in order to fulfill a selfish momentary want, or we decide our need outweighs God´s will and do not put our faith in Him, we sell out.

Hello Gi,

Temptations come and temptations go, the question is will we give into them or not? We can rejoice when we don't and praise God for His strength. It isn't sin until we give into the temptation so may we be strong always in the Lord and look ahead to the prize/reward when we don't give in!

Repentance is a God given opportunity to enter into the blessings of the Lord and escape from the oppression of the enemy.
If you haven't ask Jesus into your heart as Savior and asked Him to forgive you of your sins, it is as simple as following these steps:

1) ADMIT YOU HAVE SINNED. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

2) BELIEVE IN JESUS. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

3) CONFESS AND LEAVE YOUR SIN. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)

About Me

My photo
A Christian who loves to write about christian living, spiritual health and self improvement. I pray daily that the love and grace of God will be poured out through my life to others, so that those who are in bondage can be delivered and the captives set free. I remind myself daily that whether or not I have "witnessed" I am still a witness in everything I do.
