Prayer and Fasting for Purpose 3 - Brokenness

Well its the final leg of the journey, the last week of the fast and it has been a journey to remember. Here is what the Lord has been saying this past week.

Psalms 51:16-17 it says, “You do not desire sacrifice or I would give it. You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart- these O God, You will not despise.”

During a time of fasting, a lot of focus is given to the food or things we sacrifice during this time. While the sacrifices of food and the other things we give up during the fast are great, according to this passage of scripture, there is a greater sacrifice that God desires from us during these 40 days. That sacrifice is, “the sacrifice of a broken and contrite heart.” God wants brokenness from us. When was the last time you were so broken that all you could do is weep and cry in His presence?

Many cry out God use me, But the question is, “Are you willing to let this earthen vessel be broken Are you willing to crucify the flesh in order that you can come to a place where you are open to be molded and fashioned by the potter. In a broken state you are no longer dependent on you, instead you are dependent on God

As you decrease in self and allow God to increase in your life, he will hear and answer As you continue to cry out in repentance and brokenness, you will experience Gods presence and power in a fresh and new way, resulting in transformation in your life

So true Gi. We must step into the fire and allow the the fleshly things to be burned up and come forth as an honorable vessel for the Lord. Stepping into the fire can be very painful to our flesh but it is indeed necessary if we are going to walk in the power of His Holy Spirit!

Hi Gi..
(((Hugz)))) I had to come over and say hello!!! Wow you have been through an awesome journey of fasting, I know brokenness so well I wrote one the other week called brokenness in silence. I was going through a time of an inured spirit, but the Lord always helps us to pick up those broken pieces. It may never be put back the exact way it was before it was broken, but brokenness never leave us the same. It can leave us either better, or bitter, it's really all up to us. I've missed your smile!! I had to come see you!!

Amen sis great post, many of us Christians are not aware that fasting/Prayer is very important in their walk.

Godbless you

Repentance is a God given opportunity to enter into the blessings of the Lord and escape from the oppression of the enemy.
If you haven't ask Jesus into your heart as Savior and asked Him to forgive you of your sins, it is as simple as following these steps:

1) ADMIT YOU HAVE SINNED. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

2) BELIEVE IN JESUS. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

3) CONFESS AND LEAVE YOUR SIN. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)
